Special Needs Ministry – the PEACE Program

Place where

Adults and

Children are

The PEACE Program offers families and children with special needs a variety of options for inclusion in the Body of Christ. Inclusion may look different for everyone. The goal is for all individuals to learn:

  • They are made in the image of God
  • God loves them and wants a relationship with them
  • They are a valued part of the GPC family

The Wacky Wednesday summer Bible study is in need of a few items:

– Empty 2-liter clear plastic coke bottles

– Miracle-Gro potting soil

– Colored Sharpie markers (fine and broad tip)

Please leave items in the church office. Thanks in advance!

For Families

On Sunday mornings, there’s a spot for everyone!  The Special Needs Ministry Team
(SNMT) partners with families to tailor a program specific to a student’s needs.  Whether it’s by providing additional support in a typical classroom setting, or spending the morning in our newly renovated classroom, we provide a safe and appropriate environment for all to learn about God and His love for them.

Students who are unable to attend worship service with their families are invited to remain with us in our new classroom, where they will continue to build on what they learned during Sunday school.

To reserve your spot in our program, register here.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

As the PEACE Program grows, so grows the need for additional volunteers. There are volunteer opportunities waiting just for YOU! A background in special needs is not required; the PEACE Program will equip you with the tools you need to serve.

To register as a volunteer or if you have any questions, please email [email protected].

For Volunteers

Are you interested in volunteering with the PEACE Program?  The SNMT is accepting applications for Buddy Volunteers.  Buddies serve in 2 ways:

  • Extra hands in the self-contained classroom
  • Assistant in the typical classroom environment

If you are interested in volunteering as a buddy, email the SNMT or click here for a pdf application.
